UV Protection of GCHA's Main Office Display Case

If you've visited our office at the Harborfields Public Library, you may have noticed the artifacts displayed in our case. Thanks to the support of the Society of American Archivists Foundation’s Opportunity Grant Program, we’ve partnered with American Window Film to install UV protective film on the glass. This upgrade helps protect our valuable historical documents, photographs, and artifacts from the damaging effects of ultraviolet light.

UV exposure can lead to fading, discoloration, and deterioration, especially in delicate items like paper and textiles. With the UV protective film, we’re reducing this risk and ensuring we can display these pieces for a longer period.

Next time you're in, be sure to appreciate both the history on display and the care we take in preserving it for future generations.
