Gardiner House Mysteries Revealed

Tuesday, July 8th - 7 PM

Harborfields Public Library Community Meeting Room

You’ve driven by the house. It’s possible that you have attended one of the many events sponsored by the Greenlawn-Centerport Historical Association.

But the century-old home on the property at 900 Park Avenue and the families that lived there are a mystery to most of us. The mystery began in 1842 when Alexander Smith and his wife were the victims of a grisly murder, and ends in 2003 when centenarian Herbert Gardiner passed away after spending 97 years of his life in this family home.

It was a home without electricity, modern plumbing or other amenities that we take for granted.

Hear first-hand accounts of the Gardiner family history as told to one of the few people who was befriended by this reclusive member of the community.

Did his simple lifestyle contribute to his longevity? Have the current caretakers seen the ghost that is reported to still live there?

These and other mysteries will all be revealed!

Registration is suggested, but not required.
